El Canto del Bracerowas composed and arranged
by Juan Manuel Cortez to celebrate
the Mexican farmworkers in the
United States. It was
performed in March 2006 at the
Eighth Annual Northwest Mariachi
Festival by the Mariachi Internacional
del México, under the direction
of Juan Cortez (pictured here
in the foreground).
The Huapango de Moncayo is
a composition by Jalisco's José
Pablo Moncayo (1912-1958).
This orchestrated piece is based
on Mexican folklore from the
Huasteca region of Tamaulipas
and Veracruz. It is performed
below by the Mariachi Internacional
de México under the direction
of Juan Cortez during the 2006
Northwest Mariachi Festival
in Wenatchee, Washington.
