Juan Cortez has been coordinating
mariachi festivals and workshops
in conjunction with schools
in California, Washington and
Chicago, Illinois since 1988.
In all of these festivals he
has composed and arranged the
music for the workshops, taught
the violin at all levels in
his master classes, collaborated
with such talent as the Mariachi
Los Camperos de Nati Cano,
Mariachi de America de Jesús
de Hijar, Mariachi Sol de México
de José Hernández, performed
and directed Mariachi Internacional
de México and Mariachi Voz de
México. In addition, he
has brought artists such as
Alicia Juárez, Lorenzo Antonio
and las Xparks, Mercedes Castro,
Ballet Folklorico del Pacifico,
Los Bailadores de Bronce
and many more to these educational
and festive events.
Juan Cortez and his festival
team are available to any school
district or other organization
wanting to set up a festival
and the associated workshops.

Juan is the director of the
2009 Northwest Mariachi
